Salsa basics...

I am a beginner at salsa dancing and my partner is a little bigger than me..and when she spins into my arms, sometimes I can't hold her and fall out of balance. What should I do? I was thinking to let her lead and I'll do the spin, but didn't want to do that as it would be 'gay'
