What is a salsa baby? Are you one?

Hey there! Are you a new salsa baby? What the heck am I talking about you wonder.

Barbara, my dance instructor from the Atrium Dance Studio always calls her students salsa babies! Its too cute.

    My definition:
"New beginner salsa dancer. Just like a baby -- learning to crawl, walk, and dance"

Crawling
So you're new and don't know a thing about salsa dancing or the basic salsa step. You'll need to learn how to crawl before you can walk.. Same thing in salsa dancing -- before you can dance any of the salsa moves, you'll need to learn the basic step.

Walking
After learning the basic step (crawling), you should learn the basic salsa moves. These are the fundamentals used in all of the dance moves you'll learn. So its important to learn these sets of moves to the point where you can carry on a conversation and not think much about the move.

Dancing
When you've mastered the basic salsa moves, you'll be able to see that for every intermediate and advanced move, you can break it apart into its fundamentals.

As a site note…
Interestingly enough, there are places out there for actual salsa babies 6-8 weeks and up. Mother's get to snuggle with their baby in baby carriers while they learn to dance salsa. What a great concept! I love the name of the website Salsa Babies – Latin Beat for Tiny Feet!
