Here’s an animation of the Forward Break Step.
This step is really the same for the men and women. It makes more sense to forward break on your left foot and then forward break on your right foot. So I’ve combined them into one animation.
This move is an important fundamental for your check turn.
When practicing this move, make sure you shift your weight to the foot that is checking forward.
