Dancing with a beginner girl

Hi, I have been taking salsa lesson on-and-off for about a year. Long story short, I can now start going to clubs, so today I went practically for the first time to dance in a club environment.

I am probably intermediate, I know at least 10 figures of cuban salsa, and I can lead a good percentage of the girls. Now I started dancing with a girl who I could not lead or do anything, not even basic steps, so I ended up trying to follow her in a way.

What should I do when I encounter this? Should I just follow her, do some basics. Because trying fancy stuff sure as hell does not work. I find it boring doing basic stuff, but I don't know how a girl feels just doing the same two moves for 5 minutes +.

Any feedback would be appreciated.

Leaders

The Male always will be the one that leads on the dance floor, it doesn't matter if you're dancing with a Beginner or if you're dancing with your Dance instructor. Males keep in mind that the Female is the one making you look good on the dance floor, so instead of getting disappointed with a girl that can barely dance, take some time and teach her how. In my own opinion, that's what makes good dancers.

Yeah this is tough
by: Cold Salsero

I know what you mean, I get into this situation a lot because I keep asking the hot girls to dance (just because they're hot, doesn't mean they can dance!). My salsa instructor says that instead of doing complicated patterns, I need to make the dance more interesting by adding my own body movement and styling. I've also been practicing how to spin, so that eventually I can off load some of the spins onto myself instead.

But basically, until I become a better leader, I've been trying to avoid dancing with beginners, because it's not fun for me and I'm sure it's not fun for them too. If I can someday learn to style like this guy "http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=F88ZZ0GK2s8", then maybe it'll be fun for both of us, but I'm not there yet.
